● ऐसा माना जाता हैं कि आज (26 जून) ही के दिन वर्ष 1498 में चीन के राजा ने पहली बार टूथब्रश को दुनियां के सामने रखा था। उस समय टूथब्रश में ब्रिस्ल्स की जगह जानवरों के बालों का इस्तेमाल किया जाता था जिसे हड्डी या बाँस के टुकड़ों में लगाकर टूथब्रश की तरह दांत साफ करने के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जाता था। प्राचीन इजिप्ट और बेबिलोनिया में दातून का प्रयोग होता था। वहीं यूरोप में टूथब्रश 17 वीं सदी में आया और फिर 1930 के दशक में नायलॉन टूथब्रश का प्रयोग होने लगा।
