● 31 जुलाई 1995 में पहली बार भारत में मोबाइल फोन के जरिये बातचीत की गई थी। पहला मोबाइल फोन का कॉल पश्चिम बंगाल के तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री ज्योति बसु ने तत्कालीन केंद्रीय संचार मंत्री सुखराम को किया था। कोलकाता के राइटर्स बिल्डिंग से दिल्ली के संचार भवन के बीच इस पहली मोबाइल फोन कॉल के साथ ही भारत में मोबाइल फोन का दौर शुरू हुआ था।
( On 31 July 1995, the first conversation in India was done through mobile phones. The first mobile phone call was made by the then West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu to the then Union Communications Minister Sukh Ram. The era of mobile phones started in India with this first mobile phone call from Kolkata's Writers' Building to Sanchar Bhawan/Communication building in Delhi. )
