● भारत मे रविवार को अधिकारिक साप्ताहिक अवकाश यानी वीकली ऑफ सबके लिए 10 जून 1890 को माना गया था। भारत मे ब्रिटिश शासन के दौरान मज़दूरों को हफ़्ते में  सातों दिन काम करना पड़ता था। जिसे देखते हुए मज़दूर हितो में काम करने वाले कार्यकर्ता नारायण मेघाजी लोखंडे ने आवाज उठाई। लगभग सात वर्षों के संघर्ष के बाद उनको कामयाबी मिली और मज़दूरों को भी रविवार की छुट्टी मिलनी शुरू हो गयी।
( On Sunday, 10 June 1890 was considered as the official weekly holiday in India. During British rule in India, workers had to work for seven days a week. In view of this, activist Narayan Meghaji Lokhande, who works in the interests of the workers, raised his voice.  After nearly seven years of struggle, they got success and the workers also started getting Sunday leave. )
